Animator

Job Responsibilities:

All applying animators must be capable to convey motive and emotion on 3D characters by using keyframe animation and or manipulating motion capture data. Animators will be working closely with the supervising and lead animators to maintain a coherent style and feel for all animation and to ensure that the game has the absolute best animation in the industry.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have traditional art training and skills.
  • The understanding of motion and timing is essential.
  • Expert skill with editing function curves in Maya or a comparable 3D package is a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to accept and follow direction, collaborate productively with others, and work to meet deadlines as necessary.
  • High level of proficiency in Maya.
  • Positive, professional attitude. Disciplined and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to think creatively and analytically.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to multitask effectively, prioritizes competing demands, and follow through on details. Must be flexible enough to deal with changing role requirements.
  • Passionate about games and able to articulate that passion clearly and analytically.
  • A broad knowledge base of console and PC games.
  • An understanding of the motion capture cleanup process is also a plus.
  • Motion Builder and Unreal Engine 3D experience is a big plus.
  • Traditional animation background is a plus.
  • Character setup/rigging skills are a plus.
  • Candidates should have at least 3 years experience in a production environment, preferably in the game industry.
  • Secondary education degree or equivalent.
